Angel Season 5

I'm kinda ignoring all of Angel Season 4 (except for maybe the finale episode), but I haven't given up hope yet that the show might actually get really good again. Who knows? Stranger things have happened. Plus, since Joss Whedon will only have this one show on the air next year, maybe he'll get off his ass and actually make the show work well. It could happen...*looks skeptical* Well, it'd better, at any rate. Of the 4 shows I've ever called my favorites, Angel is the only one I've got left. *makes silent plea to Joss Whedon...though addressing him as Satan probably doesn't help her case...*

Now, on to Susan's questions:
1. And the creepyish dude with the dark mask-like thing and the dark lips and the dark hair is...?
That would be The First Slayer, a.k.a. The Primitive. She clearly didn't care as much about fashion as Buffy the Slayer does.

2. Wer...sind wir? Woher...kommen wir? Wohin...gehen wir? Woher wissen wir was wir zu wissen glaube?
Um...what? *rushes off to Google and Altavista Translations...* Ahhh, that's a Lola thing... "Who...are we? From where...do we come? Where...do we go? From where do we know which we to know believe?" Er, I think Altavista might've messed up on the translation of that last sentence there...*shrugs*

3. C'mon people, I can't be the only person who can't resist the question box, can I??
Technically, this isn't a question for me, really....but I think it's pretty clear by now that you're the only one, Suz.

I. HATE. COMPUTERS!!!!!

I'm trying to change some of the stuff on the right side of my blog but my computer is freakin' useless and it will only show me this really, really old version of my template instead of my current template, and I can't do or change anything on this blog except to my actual posts. GRRRR!!!! AARRRRRRGH!!!!

So if none of the stuff in the left or right columns changes for a while....that's why. It's bloody annoying, it is. If I wasn't already insane, this would seriously impede my sanity...

It's really over. Buffy, I mean (yeah, as if I talk about anything else). It's been a good seven years ("good" being one of those words that are entirely inadequate) and I'm glad I was a part of that somehow... Besides, it's never really over - as long as I've still got my memory, it won't ever be gone. Thanks to the devil Joss Whedon and all else who were involved in the making of the show.

p.s. New layout. One image from each of the 7 season finales. Not sure I like it as much as my last one, but it seems a fitting tribute. Let me know if you hate it.

Hmmm...so this probably/likely/certainly isn't of interest to anyone but me, but it's my blog and I'll babble if I want to.

Jude Law just signed on to be in the movie The Aviator, a biopic about Howard Hughes starring Leonardo DiCaprio. Now...call me crazy, but a movie with two of my favorite actors both in it doesn't sound terrible at all. Even if Jude Law's part might just be a cameo. Even so...I think that's cool. :)

Buffy ends tonight. So. What do I think of that? Good question. Well considering the fact that the writers are seriously more addicted to crack than they were when the show first started back in 1997, it's not really such a bad thing that it's ending now. In terms of the way the show is, and the way its going, it's good to end here. Though I do wish that the show wasn't necessarily the way it is and that it didn't have to end right now. But that's not the case.

I joined the fandom late -- and in season 4, no less (but somehow still managed to watch all the important episodes from seasons 1 to 3 before even knowing they were important). Season 4: when most of the established Buffy fans were cringing at storylines involving the Initiative and one Riley Finn. But somehow, the show had me hooked and it's been a big part of my life ever since. Sounds dumb, I know. I mean, it is just a TV show, right? It's meant a lot, though. Sometimes in the midst of a particularly tough week, the thought of a new episode coming up on the next Tuesday (or a new episode taped to be watched on a Friday, in most cases) gave me something to look forward to. I guess that's what I would thank all the Buffy people for, really. It's been a fun ride.

1. So, I finally updated, what's your excuse?
Well, I was away in Kingston the last couple of days...does that count? Anyway, I guess that's a moot point now. :)

2. Wow, X2 has an official subtitle? I didn't realize....
Yes, indeed - X2: X-Men United is the full title. Wonder what they're going to call the next one.

3. How does one woman destroy in 7 years what took 136 years to build?
By wearing a suit of peptol-bismol pink and forming cracks in a foundation that hopefully are not irreparable.

4. And will you PLEAASE help me fix my blog soon? I need more space for writing and less dead space on the side...
Am ready to help whenever you want me to, Suz.

Oookay. Finally finished reading To The Lighthouse and Atonement and now I've got to go through my English notes and refresh my memory on all the stuff I read first term. Sigh. Never did finish reading Emma (I want to, though...maybe over the summer?), but I think I generally know how that one goes. Sort of read Freud's Dora, but considering I'm not extremely fond of Mister Sigmund, I didn't really read that one in much depth and kind of just skimmed about the last third of it. Ah well. Anyway, for anyone looking to read something interesting...hmm...let's see, what have I liked that I read for English this year? *consults a list*

I liked (in varying degrees): Emma by Jane Austen, Atonement by Ian McEwan, To The Lighthouse by Virginia Woolf, "The Yellow Wall-Paper" by Charlotte Perkins Stetson (a.k.a. Charlotte Perkins Gilman), The Middle Stories by Sheila Heti, The Turn of the Screw by Henry James, and Frankenstein by Mary Shelley (well, I didn't really read this one so much as skim it, either, 'cause I already studied it in Grade 11 Media).

I also enjoyed watching Clueless. *smirks* Hehe.

So. Will answer (Susan's) questions (hmm. Don't think anyone else ever has anything to ask me. :)) now and then go learn some stuff for English.

"Oh no, I have to go take an English exam. They give you credit for speaking it, right?"

1. Teeeeeelll meeeeeee...why d'ja have to go and make things so complicaaaayyted?
Erm...I don't know, Suz (and I'm sorry if this actually isn't from Suz, but, playing the odds...). Why don't you teeeeellll meeeee?

2. Brazil is far away from Toronto, eh?
Not so far. We're North America, Brazil's South America. See? If two people are just in the north and south sections of the same place, they can't really be that far apart, can they?

1. Got a question?
Hmm. I've got lots of questions, generally. But I'm guessing you just forgot to type your question...

2. How did you like Red Dragon?
Well...it was interesting, and not nearly as much of a waste of time as Hannibal was. It was enjoyable.

3. 525,600 minutes, how do you measure, measure a year?
how about love? how about love? how about love? measure in love... seasons of love... seasons of love...
(clearly this was a researched answer as I've no idea what Rent is about. ;))

4. Who'd ever want to hire ME?
*waves an arm around* I would, if I had a business to hire people for... :) Don't think anyone could find someone better to hire than you... :)
